Paddy farmer commits suicide

BHANDARA: A young farmer committed suicide by jumping in a tank at village Navegaon in Mohadi tehsil on Monday. The deceased, Pavan Kodavate (35) cultivated paddy on his three acres land.
It is learnt, Kodavate had borrowed Rs one lakh from a local primary cooperative and Rs2 lakh from Vainganga Rural Bank. Due to drought like conditions in the last three years, he suffered crop damage and could not repay the debt.
His ailing son was admitted in a private nursing home in Tumsar last fortnight.The hospital charged Rs50,000. He returned to his village but could not arrange the money. Left with no alternative, he committed suicide. The Karadi police have registered a case.
